TWO SPEAKERS EARN STATE SPEECH MEDALS
Panther Speech sent four speakers to the State Speech Meet on April 17, at Lakeville North High School. Junior Shelby Sowers, who competes in the category of Informative Speaking, placed 6th with her speech entitled, Fingerprints. Junior Joe Kastner, who competes in the category of Creative Expression, placed 8th with his comic speech entitled, A Particular Set of Skills. Congratulations!

CHOIR RECEIVES THREE SUPERIOR RATINGS AT CONTEST
The Parkers Prairie Senior High Choir recieved a superior rating from each of the three judges at their large-group contest on Wednesday, March 18. The contest was hosted by the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle High School and involved nine area choirs. Congratulations to the choir members on their outstanding performance!

CHESS TEAM EARNS TROPHY AT STATEWIDE CHESS TOURNAMENT
The Parkers Prairie Chess Team representatives, Cole Euteneuer and Carter Plasek earned a trophy for 1st place, out-state team at the Statewide Chess Tournament this past weekend at Breck School in Golden Valley. The tournament consisted of 7 matches over 2 days, with 187 kids competing in the 4-6 grade category. Congratulations Cole and Carter!

PPES MCA TESTING DATES
The MCA tests, conducted by the Minnesota Department of Education, help schools assess student learning and give a snapshot of each student's academic performance compared to his or her peers throughout the state.

PPHS CANCER PROJECT
The 10th grade biology class at Parkers Prairie High School has started a unit titled: "The Faces of Cancer" in which it will attempt to answer some tough questions about cancer, it's causes and it's impact on patients and their families.
