Elementary & Early Childhood
Welcome to Parkers Prairie Elementary School,
We are a proud, community supported elementary school with programs for students in preschool through the sixth grade. We begin with our earliest learners through our Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program where we strive to build a positive partnership between home and the school which will extend throughout their time in our district. Programming from the earliest years through sixth grade focuses on developing literate, lifelong learners.
We use a Balanced Literacy approach where instruction is focused on individual needs. Students are encouraged to view themselves as strong readers and writers. Instruction is guided by student need, and all students are able to demonstrate growth. We have a strong math curriculum that challenges students to build on what they have already learned. We align with state standards and offer services to students that are struggling, and enrichment for those achieving at the highest levels. In the fifth and sixth grade we offer a middle school concept that allows students the opportunity to interact with multiple teachers, and even experience a class at the high school.
Our building focus is on Panther PRIDE (Practice Kindness, Respect Everyone, Include Others, Demonstrate Self Control, and Everyone Be Responsible). Through conversations on Monday mornings as a whole school, within classrooms, and during small group or one on one interaction we are learning about PRIDE, and applying it to how we interact with each other at school.
