Graduation Requirements

To be eligible for a diploma at commencement exercises, the Class of '09 must have 27 credits; and the Class of '10 must have 26.5 credits; and the Class of '11 and beyond must have 26 credits. These credits must be earned in grades 9 through 12.

Each student must meet all requirements of the Minnesota Graduation Standards. A student must pass the Basic Standards Test in math with a minimum scale score of at least 600, reading with a minimum scale score of at least 600, and writing with a minimum score of at least 3. The Class of 2008 must complete the new Graduation Standards as directed by the Minnesota Department of Education.

A student must...

  1. All PPHS students are required to earn 27 credits. The 27 credits must include 4 credits of English, .5 of speech, 4 credits of social studies, 3 credits of science, 3 credits in math, .5 credit computer fundamentals, 1 credit of phy. ed., .5 credits of health, 1 credit of an art and 9.5 of elective credit.
  2. Pass the Minnesota Basic Requirements test in Reading and Mathematics with a score of 600 and pass the State Written composition test with a score of 3 or higher (for those who will graduate in 2008, 2009 and 2010).
  3. Achieve a 10th grade Reading level as indicated by the Minnesota Comprehensive Achievement test.
