Technology Education with Mr. Custer

 

Purpose:    

The purpose of technology is to learn how to use appropriate tools in different situations and to examine the ways that technology can improve our lives.

 

Expectations:

You can expect from me the same things I expect from you.

             *Respect: for people, their belongings, their projects, ourselves, differences, rules.

             *Open mind: for appreciation of new perspectives, other cultures and their peoples.

             *Best efforts: to work hard, to become better, to be successful, to learn         

something new.

             *Positive attitude: to have fun, to support each other, to smile, to laugh.

 

Classroom Rules:

 

*Prepared, in your seat, ready to work!

              -Be in your seat fully prepared, ready to work when the bell rings.

              -Your work area must be clean before the bell rings.

-At the end of the hour, please stay in your seat until I dismiss you (not the bell).

 

*Respect everyone! 

              -Respect yourself, your classmates, your teacher, our classroom, and everyone’s

belongings.

              -Help create a positive environment by not being disruptive.

              -No student has the right to prevent others from learning.

 

*Listen!

              -Follow directions the first time they are given.

              -Raise your hand and wait to be recognized before speaking.

              -Listen to others and be encouraging when they’re speaking.    

 

Consequences: 

When you choose not to respect the learning environment in the Tech Ed  

classroom, you are choosing one of the following consequences:

 

              *1st Verbal or non-verbal warnings

 

              *2nd Classroom detention: 15 minutes before of after school within a week of the

offense, During this detention, you will do work to help Mr. Custer.

               

              *3rd Removal from the classroom to the hall until we can discuss the situation

 

              *Office pass: to see the principal if it is necessary that you be removed from the

classroom for the rest of a class period

 

              *Office detention:     received for third and subsequent tardies each quarter and

may also be used in place of classroom detention

 

              *There are department rules that will also apply in parallel with my classroom rules

 

Classroom Management:

 

*Hall pass:  I do allow students to go to their lockers, get a drink and use the

restroom (only one student at a time) if they take the hall pass.

 

*Study Materials:  I do allow students to do work for other classes if and only if

                            all other work is completed for my class.
