Evaluation:

In the Tech Ed Department, I have high expectations for our students. I know that they are capable of achieving a lot and of reaching great heights.  The grade you earn each quarter is determined based on the following areas:

Daily Participation (30%):

*Learning requires continual active practice over an extended period of time.

*I will observe your participation on a regular basis by considering these areas:

                                                        Attentiveness, Preparedness, Frequency of Participation

*Each quarter, you will have the opportunity to evaluate your participation, as will I

Assignments (20%):

*Usually, you have time in class to begin assignments so you may ask questions.

*Homework will be graded for points or completion, or may just be reviewed in class.

*Completion of each assignment is expected since daily assignments will often be the basis for the next day's class activity and review.              Projects (30%)

*Specific requirements and due dates will precede each project.

*There will be one project each semester.

Quizzes/Tests (20%)

*All tests and most quizzes will be announced ahead of time.

*We will review the material in depth as a class prior to each test.

*Safety tests must be passed at 100% proficiency prior to each related unit.

Make-up Work:

When you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed.

*You must see me BEFORE or AFTER school to discuss missed work.

*Generally, you have two days for each day missed to make up work.

*You must schedule make-up lab time within the week following your absence.

Please talk to me if times or transportation are an issue so we can make accommodations.

*The sooner you can make up your assignments, the better.  The class keeps moving forward!!

*If you know you'll be gone, please ask for assignments ahead of time.

Late Work:

*For daily work that is checked in class, any assignments that are not finished when

checked will earn a score of zero (0) points and may not be turned in late.

*For work that is handed in, you may turn it in one day late for 75% of your actual score.

*Work will not be accepted more than one day late.

*In special cases, you may request an extension.  See me outside of class before the due date.

*If you are absent for part of a class, it is your responsibility to turn in the work

or check daily work with me before leaving class.
