AMERICAN CIVICS!!!!! A healthy meal of World, National, State, and Local government principles and concepts. LOCAL HISTORY!!!! Students do historical investigation and find out about the rich history of Parkers Prairie and the surrounding area. Current event knowledge, comprehension, synthesis, analysis, and evaluation is an important element of the weekly rigor in the classroom. Reading the Minneapolis Star Tribune and Newsweek during the week is part of the curriculm. It gives the students an insight about current events and also allows the students to practice their reading skills, increase their vocabulary, check their grammatical insight... FRIDAY JEOPARDY!!! A tradition in Mesker's classroom for many a year. Most students look forward to ending a the week with a very competitive game of Team C.E. Jeopardy. It is the only way in that my students can get extra credit during their class. Each Friday we divide out into teams and play the game. The members of the 1st place team get "x" number of extra credit points, while the last place team gets nearly none.

Think that you can and you will, it's all in your STATE OF MIND." Everyone of us can obtain a P.H.D. in the game of life. What is your P. ride, What is your H. ustle, and what is your D. esire.
