Course Description: To fully utilize the capabilities of
Microsoft Office, students will need to address the process, or system side, of
how this technology is being used to enhance productivity in the
workplace. Throughout this text,
students are expected to develop and execute strategies for solving information
processing and management problems using Word, for solving numeric and
mathematical problems using Excel, for organizing, querying, and retrieving
data using Access, and for writing, creating and producing presentations using
PowerPoint.

Course
Objectives:
The Student will:
1. Analyze, synthesize, and evaluate school,
work, or home situations and use application software to complete
information-processing tasks efficiently and effectively.
2. Access the Internet and use the browse,
search, and hyperlink capabilities of Web Browsers.
3. Prepare, manage, and print documents using
application software.
4. Learn strategies for merging and
integrating source data from different applications.
5. Create, design, and produce professional
documents using basic word processing software.
Topics include design options for formatting and layout, strategies for
working with multiple documents, and techniques for using templates and pre-designed
styles.
6. Process, manipulate and represent numeric
data using the basic functions of spreadsheet software. Functions include: using formatting
techniques for preparing a spreadsheet, creating and testing formulas, using
multiple worksheets, exploring what-if scenarios, and converting to chart
formats.
7. Design and create informational and
motivational slides using presentation software and images that contain
hyperlinks, tables, clip art and animation.
